The former "chez Mathilde" inn is undoubtedly the last remaining inn in Marac (unfortunately now closed), with its austere 19th-century facade featuring a re-used niche in the middle housing a Saint-Hubert marked with the year 1625. Until recently, it was a 'modern' meeting place for hunters from the Marac woods, whose most prestigious visitors included Léon Mougeot (Mayor of Langres, General Councillor, Member of Parliament and then Senator, and finally Minister for the Post Office and then Agriculture), Emile Cassez (general councillor, senator, then minister of agriculture), Edouard Herriot (mayor of Lyon) and Gaston Doumergue (future President of the Republic), all of whom enjoyed spending a weekend there, under the watchful eye of old Mathilde.
