ATTENTION: Given that the path around Lac de la Liez is flooded by the waters of the lake on the northern part, in Baie d'Orbigny, the route is maintained via the southern bank (green and yellow markings).
The Vosges-Pyrenees trail crosses the Pays de Langres from Serqueux to Lamargelle-aux-Bois on the border with the Côte d'Or. As you cross our region, you'll discover the spa town of Bourbonne-les-Bains, the vineyards of Coiffy and the chapel at Presles, before entering the 4 Lakes region.
Here, you'll ride along the north bank of Lac de la Liez before joining the towpath of the Canal de la Marne à la Saône, and finally climbing the slopes of the plateau to the town of Langres. After relaxing in one of the 7 hotels in the conservation area, you can head for Lac de la Mouche, then the valley of the same name as far as Haut du Sec, the highest point in the Haute-Marne (516 m): a magnificent panorama of the town of Langres.
Next, you'll have to cross the Auberive national forest. You'll discover a wealth of flora and fauna as you wind your way through valleys and forest roads. Once you reach the village of Auberive, you'll need to make another stop to discover its abbey and its "promenade de l'entre deux eaux"... Finally, you'll need to head south into the Côte d'Or department via the Val Clavin, then the Bois de la Réserve to Vivey, and finally Lamargelle-aux-Bois.
