The spa town of Bourbonne-les-Bains lies at the source of the Meuse, on the borders of the Lorraine, Franche-Comté and Burgundy regions, in an exceptionally well-preserved natural environment.
Every year, from March to November, more than 12,000 people visit the thermal baths to benefit from the therapeutic virtues of the warm waters, which are high in calcium, magnesium, sodium and trace elements and have a composition similar to human serum. The water acquires its properties as it passes through various layers of rock at depths of up to 2,000 metres, gushing out at a temperature of 66°.
The waters of Bourbonne-les-Bains treat rheumatism, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, bone decalcifications and ENT as part of a three-week medical spa treatment. Scientific clinical research into the Bourbonne-les-Bains spa treatment carried out by the Nancy University Hospital proves that thermal waters improve quality of life, reduce pain and increase bone formation.
Local mud applications are made from clay mixed with thermal water: they increase the properties of the thermal waters through skin exchanges and reduce
muscle contractures.
The bath has a relaxing effect. The hydro-massage bath is particularly popular with guests: 20 minutes of sweeping over the whole body with varying degrees of pressure. The jet shower is invigorating and stimulating.
The hammam or emanatorium, located directly above the Roman well, collects rare gases and thermal vapours which are absorbed directly into the lungs.
L.R.O. treatments include aerosols, inhalations, sprays and gargles...
