10am: departure by bike for the "D'Auberive à Grancey-le-Château" tour. After visiting the Cistercian abbey at Auberive, I take the road through the forest to the unusual village of Grancey-le-Château. From the road in front of the village, I can already see the fortified belt of Grancey and the church perched proudly on top... I walk along the rampart into the little village, past the fortified gate and decide to stop for a picnic not far from the site. I then set off again, continuing my route through the Haut-Marnais countryside. I made a diversion to the Etang de la Juchère in Villars-Santenoge, where I had a swim and sunbathed on the beach.
