The church of Poinson-lès-Grancey was the seat of a parish priest appointed by the Bishop of Langres, with Poinsenot, Lamargelle, Santenoge and Neuvelle-les-Grancey as branches. Most of the local tithes belonged to Auberive Abbey. Saint-Léger church has a choir and bell tower that may date back to the second half of the 12th century. The south chapel was built against the bell tower span around the 16th century and was probably used as a seigneurial chapel by the Du Lyon family, who owned the seigneury from that time onwards. The nave is not sufficiently distinctive to determine its date of construction. In 1865, the architect Didier Deblut drew up plans to raise the walls of the nave, build the vaults and buttresses and pierce the two north windows.
