Of Celtic origin, the town is perched on a promontory facing south, with the valley of the Traire, a river full of fish, at its feet.
From the 16th century onwards, it provided water for tempering and motive power for various factories.
Cutlery began to flourish in the 18th century, reaching its peak at the end of the 19th century.
On this intramural tour, we'd like to introduce you to the rich natural, architectural and metalworking heritage that the town has preserved over the centuries.
Choose your itinerary. There are two routes to choose from.
The shortest is a 1.1 km stroll around the main monuments, including the Place Charles de Gaulle, the church of Saint-Jean, the cutlery museum, the Justice of the Peace building, etc.
Enjoy your visit to history!
