224 km long, the enchanting canal "Entre Champagne et Bourgogne" links the Marne to the Saône and stretches over five départements and three regions. All along its course, it offers a superb diversity of plants, animals and architecture. As the link between the Marne and Lac de Der to the north and Langres and the four lakes to the south, the canal is a key feature of the Haute-Marne department.
You can take the old towpath or bypass roads when certain structures prevent you from following it, such as the tunnel at Balesmes-sur-Marne.
