On the discovery trail you can admire the Roman road, the quarries, the remains of a lime kiln, a reproduction of the mausoleum at 1/4 its height, the forest house, the demoiselle fountain...

Situated in the forest outside the village, the archaeological site where the remains of the Faverolles mausoleum were discovered offers a pleasant walk between history and nature. The 2km-long shaded discovery trail features explanatory panels that allow walkers to imagine what the hill looked like over 2,000 years ago, when the sumptuous Gallo-Roman mausoleum stood proudly at its summit. The funerary enclosure surrounding the monument, the merchants' carts coming from Langres "Andemantunum" and taking the Roman road, the stone quarries, the lime kiln, the old coal pit, the spring, the trench in the hill, the model of the monument, the lapiaz... the whole archaeological and geological history of the site is revealed...

Outdoor enthusiasts? Equip yourself with good shoes and a bottle of water and set off to conquer the hiking trail linking Faverolles to the tuffière de Rolampont. It's an opportunity to discover two extraordinary sites along an 11km route. After the museum and archaeological site at Faverolles, this little corner of greenery continues to tell its own story: engraved markers in the forest, the Rolampont tuff field, tufa marshes, wildlife, landscape interpretation, legends and traditions, the Suize river... A day rich in discovery...
