Part of our rural heritage, restored in 2003, most of these fountains were built in the 19th century. At that time, building a public fountain was a sign of progress and met a need in everyday life. At the time, there were at least 10 in Montigny Le Roi. This tour of the town centre will familiarise you with the different water sources that supplied the villagers over the centuries, and will lead you in the footsteps of two of Montigny's most famous sons, the Flammarion brothers.
