A technical and heritage loop in the heart of the National Park:
With its 16km and 4-hour walk, the Garenne circuit from Arc-en-Barrois is aimed at walkers looking for a complete and varied itinerary. The route, signposted in green and yellow, takes in paths along the banks of the Aujon, the village of Cour-l'Évêque, forest crossings and the descent to Montrot. The hilly terrain requires a good deal of stamina, but offers superb views and a privileged contact with the nature of the National Forest Park. Along the way, those with an interest in nature will enjoy stopping off at heritage sites such as the miraculous spring at the Montrot chapel, the old ice house, the Gallo-Roman swimming pool, the Château d'Arc and the listed steam engine. The diversity of the terrain - undergrowth, gravel paths, golf course borders - sets the pace for your progress. The perfect loop to combine physical effort, historical discoveries and immersion in an exceptional forest setting.
