Like the calvary in the Rue du Mont, which we have already seen, and the one at Pré Firon (on the D282 below towards the Nancy road, with its drinking trough), this calvary is part of the group of crosses on the outskirts of the village, which once marked out the blessed and protective area in which it was permitted to build.|It was erected on 5 August 1779 by Rémi Bacquias and his wife Jeanne Hugueny. Rémi Bacquias, then aged 47, was clerk of the Peigney court on behalf of the canons. It is one of the most elegant calvaries in the Langres region, with a massive console pedestal surmounted by a tapering column, on which rests a fine cross enhanced with fleur-de-lys branches, the centre of which, framed by four esses, must have borne the image of Christ on the cross on the Langres side (no longer extant) and the crown of thorns on the village side.
