This village of 944 hectares has been part of the Vals des Tilles commune since 1973, formed by the merger of Chalmessin (the current administrative centre), Lamargelle-aux-Bois, Musseau, Villemervry and Villemoron. Situated in the extreme south of the canton of Auberive, near one of the sources of the Tille, this village is the last in the Haute-Marne against the Côte d'Or, in a particularly picturesque hilly and wooded area...
Today's village has developed around three star-shaped roads, with the church standing proudly in the centre. The main feature of the village is the large number of dormer windows under the roofs, usually found on middle-class houses in large towns and cities...
