Between historic paths, forest and Romanesque heritage:
This 11km trail starting from Vignory town hall is a great way to combine active walking with immersion in an exceptional medieval heritage. The route begins in the village's typical narrow streets, passes the magnificent 19th-century wash-house, climbs to the remains of the feudal castle, built in the early 11th century and remodelled until the 18th, then crosses the medieval garden before reaching the Étoile forest. Hikers will discover remarkable panoramic views over the Marne valley and the Côte des Bars. The path then winds its way through undergrowth, farmland and local curiosities: the Val chapel, an old lime kiln, interpretation points and the Romanesque church of Saint-Étienne (the oldest Romanesque church in north-east France is also worth a visit). Signposted in blue-yellow and yellow-red, the route (around 3 hours on foot) offers a variety of terrain and landscapes, accessible to both regular walkers and those curious about history and nature. A harmonious loop to enjoy at your own pace.
