It is, of course, the figure of General de Gaulle that has made this village known the world over. Born in Lille in 1890, the man who saved France half a century later before becoming President of the Republic in 1959 came to live at La Boisserie in 1934. General de Gaulle, who died in 1970, left his mark on Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises, a mark perpetuated by the new Memorial inaugurated in 2008 and topped by the imposing Cross of Lorraine planted at the top of the plateau overlooking the village.
Discover this village in the footsteps of General de Gaulle.
