Perched on the summit of the Châtel hill, a monumental cast-iron statue of the Virgin Mary dominates the village of Poissons. Nearly 3.6 m high and weighing 1,600 kg, it was cast around 1860 at the Val d'Osne foundries. A plaque on its base indicates that it was built by Mr Jolly, the parish priest of Poissons, his vicar Mr Collot and Mr Imbert-marie, the brother who was headmaster of the schools, with donations from the parish and the surrounding area. It was inaugurated by Bishop Guerrin of Langres on 2 July 1860.
