Located 12 km south of Langres, Lac de la Vingeanne covers a maximum surface area of 199 ha (8 million m3), 175 ha on 30 June and around 110 ha on 30 September. A reservoir classified as category 2 in the public domain, it has 7.4 km of shoreline and a maximum depth of 9.70 m.

Lac de la Vingeanne is easy to access from the east, with boat ramps near the dyke and the sailing centre. It is also possible to fish from the dam, which is the largest of the 4 lakes, with a shoreline length of 7.4 km.

Boats: combustion engine boats are not allowed on the entire lake. Electric motor boats are permitted. Fishing boats may not be parked on the beach and parking is prohibited on the three paths leading to the boat launches. Permits for traffic and mooring must be requested from the Navigation Services (VNF), Subdivision DDE, 52250 LONGEAU.

Traffic: access to the banks of the reservoir is forbidden to all motorised vehicles, except for the launching of boats on the three ramps provided for this purpose.

Reservations: between the turrets, fishing is limited to a single line; it is prohibited on the reservoir's riprap.

Reservoirs (extract from the Prefectoral Order): it should be noted that fishing in the reservoirs supplying the Entre Champagne et Bourgogne canal, in the event of a drop in the water level, is regulated as follows:
Vingeanne reservoir :
Water level below 297: fishing is absolutely prohibited.
Water level between 298.90 and 297: fishing is authorised but only from the shore and using a single line.
Water level below 301.60: fishing is prohibited in the part of the reservoir upstream of the dyke leading to the R.N. 74.
