Situated between the villages of Chameroy and Vitry-en-Montagne, the Col de la Combe Flageolle is the ideal crossing point between the Aujon and Aube valleys. It is bordered to the north-west by the state-owned forest of Vitry-en-Montagne, which reaches an altitude of 453 m, and to the south by the Montagne massif, which reaches an altitude of 461 m.
It is the 10th pass listed by the Comité Départemental de Cyclotourisme de Haute-Marne.
