The Butte Saint-Nicolas is a test mound perched at an altitude of 408 m in the heart of the Bassigny region. It was once home to a feudal mound dating back to the 11th century. Its castle, destroyed in 1573 during the Wars of Religion, was rebuilt in the 17th century in the centre of the village of Choiseul. Today, the Butte Saint-Nicolas offers a breathtaking view of the region from its orientation table, accessible via a small path at the end of the street of the same name.
