The GR703 follows in the footsteps of the Pucelle d'Orléans. Leaving Toul, you follow the rolling countryside of Lorraine. After Domrémy-la-Pucelle, where you will discover Jeanne's birthplace, the limestone plateaux and dense forests of the Vosges, you enter the Haute-Marne. Here, the itinerary gains in relief. The heritage of the region is revealed as you pass through picturesque villages, churches and castles. The high point is a stopover at Colombey-les-Deux-Églises, linking the Johannine epic with contemporary French history. As you approach Mussy-sur-Seine, the former residence of the bishops of Langres, the landscape becomes adorned with famous vineyards.
The historic Joan of Arc trail can be explored in a number of ways. It can be explored over a number of days, or in sections over a few hours, by following the loop routes along the way.
