The current château, which is no longer inhabited, was once the home of the famous jurist Pierre Paul Nicolas Henrion de Pansey, who was born in Tréveray (Meuse) on 28 March 1742 and died in Paris in 1829. He was one of the glories of the French judiciary. This illustrious magistrate owned the Seigneurie de Pansey, where he spent his holidays every year. He was successively lawyer, professor of legislation, member and later president of the Court of Cassation and State Councillor.
