A nature and heritage trail in Joinville:
This 7km trail, starting from the Lycée Philippe Lebon in Joinville, offers a wonderful interlude between nature and heritage. Easily accessible on foot (2 hours), the route climbs gently to the Bellevue farm on the edge of the forest, then leads you through wooded paths and panoramic trails. The highlight of the walk: the remains of the old castle "from above", from where you can admire a superb panorama of the town and the Marne valley. On the way down, you can rediscover Joinville, with its charming narrow streets, medieval houses, the Poncelot bridge and the Auditoire, the former 16th-century court of the lords. This blue-and-yellow signposted trail, devised in part by secondary school pupils, combines gentle physical activity with immersion in local history. Perfect for a family outing combining nature, culture and relaxation.
