This former seigniorial court was created in 1561 by Antoinette de Bourbon. It is one of the few remaining in France.
Inside, you'll discover a host of reconstructions (80 life-size costumed mannequins). You'll meet the good King Saint-Louis, and relive the funeral pomp of Claude de Lorraine, 1st Duke of Guise, as well as Louis XIII's visit to Joinville, with his musketeers and Cardinal de Richelieu.
Before leaving, let yourself be locked up in the dungeons of the Principality of Joinville.
Access to the auditorium is by guided tour only, from May to October:
- During the 3pm opening hours held by the association every Sunday (from 1 May to 22 September), and on Saturdays and public holidays (in July and August).
- Outside these times, a guided tour is available from the tourist office, by prior arrangement.
