Tomb built for the three nurses killed in 1944: Marie-Louise Bailly, Micheline Morey and Geneviève Corubert.
"Here lie three FFI nurses tortured by the Germans at the Château de Saulles for refusing to betray the Bussières maquis - Died for France - 12 September 1944 - Pray for them".
On the evening of 11 September, a group of German soldiers burst into the Château de Saulles (Haute-Marne), a village near Bussières-les-Belmont, and tortured and executed the three nurses in the first-aid centre who had joined the FFI the previous day.
