SIMONE, which was awarded the "Fabrique de Territoire" label in 2020, has been bringing together residents and artists since 2015 in the spirit of a "Tiers-Lieu" around three areas of action:
- arts and culture
- services for residents
- and economic and social experimentation.
It is based in the former Le Chameau boot factories in Châteauvillain, in a rural area (52), and hosts :
- artist residencies,
- practical workshops and courses for amateurs and professionals: yoga, meditation, knitting/sewing, cooking, digital spaces "Chameaux 2.0" and "Simone 2.0", English conversation, singing, music, photography, theatre, etc.
- botanical workshops and outings in partnership with Le Chemin d'Essences
- as well as offering local services to residents: organic baskets, local producers' market, dress sale, lalibrairie.com relay point, community café, coworking space, etc.
Simone is supported by the CC3F and France Active Champagne Ardenne, and has agreements with the Haute-Marne Departmental Council, the Grand Est Region, the Grand Est DRAC (Atelier de Fabrique artistique) and the French government (Agence Nationale de la cohésion des territoires, Nouveaux Lieux Nouveaux Liens programme, Fabrique de Territoire label).
Simone is in the National Forest Park. Simone has been awarded the Espace de Vie Sociale label by the CAF, and the Tiers-lieu label by the Grand Est region.
