SOUTERRAINS DE BUGNIERES

SOUTERRAINS DE BUGNIERES

  • photo

Near Bugnières, the Beauvoisin underground passages, whose origins remain a mystery, consist of a large hidden underground chamber comprising three vaulted naves supported by 14 pillars and a 232-metre gallery that once led to a rotunda, now destroyed. Marks on the floor and on the carved stones invite questions about its unexplained origins. There are also the remains of the Marquis de Capizucchi's castle.
As the site is private, it is not open to visitors.
