The current château (a middle-class house) dates from the mid-18th century and stands at the entrance to a vast wooded park that can be seen from the gate. It was bought by the bishops of Langres at the end of the 18th century. Until the Revolution, it was used to house the bishop and his retinue during his visits, and also served as an auditorium. Opposite it, on the other side of the street, stood the imposing royal salt store, administered by a royal prosecutor, a tax prosecutor, a grenetier and several employees who were responsible for supplying each head of household in the 120 or so surrounding villages and hamlets with salt on a quarterly basis (according to the prescribed quota imposed per person).|No vestige of this former salt store remains today.
