The Villemoron nature reserve includes the "La Charme" grasslands and the "Châteaulion" wood. These very rare, dry grasslands are home to a large number of southern species. They are composed of low herbaceous species. Their existence depends on the nature of the soil and climate, exposure, etc. The southern slopes of the Bois de Chateaulion are home to "thermophilous" (heat-loving) woodland, which is rare in our region. This communal property is part of the Syndicat Forestier de la région d'Auberive, managed by the Office National des Forêts.
The nature reserve offers a range of thermophilic environments, from limestone slabs to advanced woodland. Each of these stages of evolution has its own specific set of species.
