A picturesque park with an irregular layout forming a belvedere overlooking the surrounding countryside. The lower part of the park consists of a terrace facing south, decorated with topiary, large ornamental trees, a nymphaeum and a circular pool. Stairs and dry stone ramps then lead to a vegetable garden, an orchard and a picturesque walk through a wooded area with two remarkable cedars, a bridge, lookouts, cliffs and a grotto. The Belvedere Walk is located below the village of Bourg, on a promontory overlooking the valley, on the site of a former castle belonging to the bishops of Langres.
Situated on the site of a former castle belonging to the bishops of Langres, destroyed in the early 15th century, the Belvedere Promenade includes a manor house, terraces and numerous dry-stone walls built in the 18th century. The picturesque park underwent major restoration work, including terraces and retaining walls, in the first half of the 19th century, during which time new features were added, including steps, walls, a grotto, a water feature comprising a pool, basins and a nymphaeum, as well as several tunnels to supply water to the garden and the property. Restoration work on these dry-stone features is currently under way.
