This metal railway swing bridge was installed in 1895 over the canal to link the Forges de Champagne et du Canal from Saint-Dizier to Wassy and the Blesme to Gray railway line.
This metal swing bridge has a single railway track. The pivot and movable part of the bridge is located on the left bank of the canal. Downstream, a structure made up of metal and wooden beams on the left-hand side and a reinforced concrete guide boom on the right-hand side guide barges into the centre of the reach to avoid hitting the load-bearing structure of the pivot (as well as that of the drawbridge upstream).
