On the ground floor, this house features one of the few surviving medieval shops in Langres. Recognisable by its segmental arch, it was served by its own door. The main entrance is offset to the right; it leads to the private flat on the first floor, whose larger windows are decorated with the same segmental arches as the door. The two upper floors were probably used for storage purposes linked to the commercial or craft activity on the ground floor. In keeping with medieval practice, the openings are not very symmetrical or rhythmic. The type, number and size of openings were determined by necessity.
