Maison à "chats" de Choiseul

Maison à "chats" de Choiseul

Another typical Haut-Marnais village house, built with three "cats" or bays: dwelling, barn and stable. Although these features are identical to the previous one, traces of renovation work on the façade show that the living area was extended to the left at some unknown time, to create a large functional living space.
This house was restored a few years ago, removing the traditional lime rendering covering the façade and leaving only a rendering known as "pierre vue". Although the facade openings have been preserved, the door and window frames in the dwelling are not homogeneous. In addition, although the barn door has been replaced by a garage door with pedestrian access in the best possible taste, the stable door and window have been completely rebuilt using white cement, with the opening enlarged.
Above the stable, the opening of a domestic dovecote has been preserved, which lost its flight board along with its hosts.
