The construction of the town hall was requested as early as 1867 by the local council, as until then, meetings had been held at the mayor's home. The idea was to extend the building occupied by the local shepherd to the south-east, according to an estimate of 2,000 francs. However, as the project was not authorised, it was postponed until 1 June 1898, when an estimate by Mr Taurey, architect at Recey-sur-Ource (Côte d'Or), put the project at 4,450 francs. The work was awarded to Mr Emile Nicard of Villars-Montroyer (now Villars-Santenoge) at a discount of 765 francs. The new town hall, which can still be seen today with the shepherd's entrance on the left and the town hall entrance on the right, was handed over on 10 January 1900. As a result of recent mergers between communes, the Lamargelle town hall (which remains an annex of the Val-des-Tilles town hall) may soon be converted into two communal housing units.
