Originally part of the Château du Grand Jardin estate in the 16th century, it was separated from it when the road was built in 1754 to link Flanders and Burgundy. Since then, the Parc du Petit Bois has continued to evolve independently: having become its owner, the municipal authorities have turned it into a vast public promenade that is as popular today as it was then.
Structured by paths converging towards a central point, the Parc du Petit Bois is home to several cast-iron statues, a nod to the epic metallurgy of the Haute-Marne region. The park's furniture is also made of cast iron, with benches and lights also sourced from local factories. Finally, the paths are named after the families of the forge masters: Gény, Capitain, Ferry.
Festivities, flea markets and other events are regularly held here. There is also a children's play area.
