Orges, a small village of just 400 inhabitants nestling in the Haute-Marne region, is home to a unique craft centre in France, and the history of this watermill began over 700 years ago.
Once used to grind flour, the Moulin de la Fleuristerie has evolved over the centuries.
Since 1903, pistils, stamens, leaves and petals have been produced here to create Haute Couture ornaments and artificial flowers.
Today, the paddle wheel still drives machinery dating back to the 19th century.
The Moulin de la Fleuristerie not only houses exceptional expertise, which you can discover on a guided tour, but also offers accommodation in guest rooms and self-catering flats.
With its reception room, the natural setting and serenity of the site attract lovers looking to celebrate their union every year, as well as events such as exhibitions and concerts.
The Moulin de la Fleuristerie has been awarded the "Esprit Parc Guided Tour" label since 2021. The craft of creating fashion flower accessories has been awarded the EPV "Entreprise Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company) label by the French government since 2008.
