Le Magnolia de Trois Fontaines

Le Magnolia de Trois Fontaines

This Magnolia de Soulange is a hybrid of two Chinese magnolias. It was created by Etienne Soulange-Bodin, in 1826, whence its name.

This magnolia was planted by the Count of Fontenoy at the beginning of the 20th century.

It has the distinctive feature of flowering before leafing, around mid-April until mid-May; it is sensitive to frost.

Its flowers look like great big rose and white coloured tulips.
