A very picturesque site: one of the most spectacular natural curiosities in the département, the result of chemical and mechanical erosion of water in a limestone environment.

Almost circular in shape, the ravine is 200 m wide and 65 m deep, with gradients of over 45%, and opens out to the south. At the bottom is the entrance to the chasm and the temporary upper source of the Manoise, which then sinks to a depth of more than 70 m in an underground circulation.

Pleasant paths laid out by the Office National des Forêts lead down the sloping walls of the cirque to the spring, then along the undergrowth, the stream and the ponds to Orquevaux.
