This wash-house stands out for its size, its three-sided roof and the 15 stone pillars that support it. It is set against a low stone wall and is open on two sides. It is fed by a wall-mounted fountain and has a sump for draining waste water. Located at the top of Rue Jean Brugnon, it is the only wash-house in the upper part of the village. It was built around 1850 (the ravine in place of the road was channelled by an aqueduct) at the instigation of Mayor Jean Brugnon and the town councillors of the time (a plaque with their names can still be seen inside the washhouse). Initially designed as an open-air washhouse, it was covered at the beginning of the 19th century for the greater comfort of the washerwomen, who were now sheltered from the elements and the sun. To the south of the washhouse, a 60 m3 tank is connected to it to supply the fire brigade in the event of a fire.
