The village washhouse is situated some distance from the centre, at the lowest point of the village, so that water can flow into it. It was built between 1846 and 1847, but the roof was added later, between 1874 and 1876, to make washing more convenient in all weathers. Inside, the washing trough is made of Trampot stone; the grey, frost-resistant stones at the bottom of the trough, used as a beating surface, come from the Esnouveaux quarry. At the front, troughs provide a place for livestock to drink.
