The wash-house is located in the heart of the village. The architect Lenoir drew up the specifications and plans on 15 March 1847, and the highly original wash-house was built the same year. It is a very ingenious communal building with double water circulation from a single hydrant, both to the outdoor drinking trough for the livestock and to the indoor basins for the washerwomen. As at Musseau, the two opposing bronze water spouts, in the shape of dragons, are striking. The washhouse, which is still in use, has been replaced by a stock of books, clothes and tourist brochures, available to residents and passers-by.
