Situated on the banks of the Suize, at the foot of the rocky spur on which the town was built, it is a reminder that in the past the town's washerwomen, heavily laden, had to make the long and arduous journey to complete their task. This vast complex, whose name "buer" means "to wash" in old French, is made up of five wash-houses, four of which are parallel, the fifth being perpendicular and used during periods of low water.
