A former metallurgical establishment, La Thuilière belonged to Auberive Abbey before the French Revolution, and produced cast iron refined in the surrounding area. All that remains of the establishment, which closed in the mid-19th century, is the main hall and the casting hall; the blast furnace and the room housing the wind tunnel were destroyed in 1906.
