The monumental fountain in the Place de la Fontaine was built in 1831. It was the head of a complex that served as a drinking trough for livestock and a washing place for the women of the village. The square also contained a pond known as "le Gué". It was used to bathe horses and as a fire reserve. But today, only the fountain remains intact, the troughs, wash-houses and ford having been dismantled in the 1960s and 1970s. They were no longer of any use to the villagers, who could now use the water from the newly installed public network at home.
