Located in the heart of the village of Mandres-la-Côte, La Ferme d'Antan invites you to step back in time and discover the daily life of the Haute-Marne countryside around 1900.
Housed in an authentic traditional farmhouse that has been carefully restored, this museum immerses visitors in the rural atmosphere of yesteryear through a succession of reconstructed rooms and workshops.
The kitchen, bedroom, vaulted cellar, pigsty, wheelwright, garage, washerwoman, clogmaker, oven room and old post office all bear witness to the skills and trades that disappeared from the rural world.
The collections, passionately assembled over more than twenty years, feature thousands of objects from the heritage of the Haute-Marne region.
The tour also takes in the important work of the seasons: harvesting, grape-picking, woodworking and animal care.
A major railway collection also completes the tour.
Thanks to the guide's commentary and the authenticity of the premises, which have been preserved in their original state, young and old alike can take a real trip back in time.
With over 1,000 m² of exhibition space in ten different areas, it's a cultural, entertaining and emotional experience.
