Create squares in a medieval-inspired garden and visit the lower room of the Comtes de Champagne keep.

The Médiévalys Chaumont association has been creating a medieval-inspired garden on the bastion of the Donjon since the beginning of 2021. A tripartite agreement between the association, the town of Chaumont and the Haute-Marne department has made this ambitious project possible. The garden is the result of an active partnership between the Town of Chaumont's green spaces department and the association's volunteers.

Located between the keep and the Chaumont museum, this majestic garden features a central well and squares bordered by chestnut plessis.

Each square is planted with different varieties of plants:
- Dye plants,
- cucurbits
- aromatic plants
- potherbs
- medicinal plants,
- legumes,

with a fruit-growing area featuring low-stemmed and small fruit trees, as well as pear, apple and cherry trees.

Of course, the garden is still evolving. The association will be organising events around the garden and in the dungeon about Hildegarde de Bingen's cooking in the Middle Ages...
