Patrick Villas invites Ramon Casares, two artists committed to saving animals
After winning rave reviews from critics and the public at numerous exhibitions in France and around the world, artist Patrick Villas, a leading figure in contemporary animal sculpture, is opening the doors of his sculpture garden to the public for the sixth time.
This year, Villas' studio will be welcoming photographs by Ramon Casares, a renowned artist and photographer. Come and admire the works of these two artists, who are committed to saving animals, at this exceptional exhibition.
Nestling in the peaceful confines of the Haute-Marne region, between the towns of Neufchâteau and Vittel, Patrick Villas welcomes visitors to an enchanting setting: his garden, which opens onto a picturesque valley, is the setting for the presentation of some twenty monumental and semi-monumental works, sometimes representing animals, sometimes human figures, skilfully fashioned in materials such as ceramics and bronze. As well as contemplating these creations, visitors are invited to discover the very workshop where these works of art are created, and where this year's exhibition features photographs by animal photographer Ramon Casares.
- Born in 1961, Patrick Villas enjoys international recognition, having been commissioned by prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Zoology in Antwerp, Belgium, the Fonds Départemental de l'Art Contemporain de l'Orne in France, the village of Robécourt in the Vosges, and Matmut.
Highlights of his artistic career include exhibitions at the Orangerie du Sénat, the Fondation de la Mamut pour l'Art, and in the towns of Compiègne, Bagnoles de l'Orne, Neufchâteau and Megève. In 2023, a retrospective exhibition and a trail of monumental sculptures were presented at the Musée Pompon in Saulieu, attracting the attention of art lovers the world over.
Since 1997, Patrick Villas' creations have conquered the most prestigious galleries and art fairs around the world, from Tefaf to Masterpiece. In recognition of his exceptional talent, he was honoured with the E. Jonchère Prize by the Taylor Foundation in 2014, while Daum France immortalised two of his works in crystal. In 2019, Patrick Villas was also named "Ambassador of Haute-Marne".
- Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1980, Ramon Casares has always had a passion for nature. After working as a zookeeper, he now works with various animal protection organisations. He began taking photographs at the age of 14, expressing his love for his subjects in every image. For him, photography is a way of raising awareness of wildlife protection. Using nature as his main subject, he creates simple but striking images, moving his audience in a unique way. Although he excels at photography, he sees himself more as an artist, capturing the essence of his subjects with a baroque aesthetic. His wildlife portraits immerse us in the details of nature, offering a visual feast in which light plays an essential role. His photographs are exhibited all over the world.
