This drinking fountain stands on old paving, with a beautiful circular stone basin surrounded by numerous bollards. The pillar in the centre holds a cast-iron vase and leads to four long spouts through which the water gushes out. In the interests of hygiene, this arrangement allowed both the animals to drink from the basin and the villagers to come and fetch clean water, using buckets that were slid along iron bars to the bottom of the spouts.
