Situated in the centre of the small village of Germisay, just a stone's throw from the church and along the only street that runs right through the village, this fountain feeds a well-preserved wash-house. It consists of a pillar and a cast-iron trough used as a drinking trough and as a conduit to the wash basin, which is sheltered under a handsome lean-to.
A stone pillar, crowned with a sculpted pyramidal capital and topped with an ornamental stone pot, houses a water pump system, operated by a cast-iron wheel-shaped crank. The water flows into the pipe, probably also used as a drinking trough. The pipe is inscribed "M.F. SLONNE" and dated 1828. The trough then emptied into the stone wash basin.
