This L-shaped farmhouse is typical of the Val-des-Tilles villages. In the courtyard is the old pigsty, still covered in stone and protected by a modern tiled roof overhang. In the same courtyard, the barn door features the paws of rabbits, wild boars, etc., showing that this was indeed a hunters' house. But let's not forget that the Gauls used to put rabbits' feet on the doors of their homes to protect them from bad luck, in a magical protection ritual that is still alive today and has been preserved in the lucky rabbit's foot. Note the cast-iron directional sign on the roadside façade towards Poinsenot, which has been regularly restored by the farm's owners. Created in 1835 by the authorities, these "coachmen's signs" were painted in white letters on a madder-blue background and were placed everywhere at a height of 2.50 m so that they could be easily seen by the coachmen, hence their name.
