Ermitage de Corrupt

Ermitage de Corrupt

  • photo

The origins of Corrupt are unknown. Initially a recluse, it became a priory for women, and in 1257 became affiliated to Molesme Abbey through the Benedictine nuns of Jully-les-Nonains (Yonne). It belonged to the diocese of Toul. It then became a simple hermitage. Purchased by the communes of Illoud and Bourg-Sainte-Marie, its restoration was undertaken by the Association "Les Amis de Corrupt" in the summer of 1988.
