This church, which is listed in the supplementary register of historic monuments, is unusual in that it was built in different periods, combining Gothic and Romanesque styles. The first 3 bays of the nave date from the 13th century, the 4th and 5th bays from the 15th and 16th centuries and the porch dates from the 16th century. According to research, it was built using stone from Roôcourt, Rolampont and the Langres region.

It is said that this church was dedicated to Bologna, a very beautiful and pious young girl who, in 360 AD, having refused the advances of Ptolemy, the leader of a Roman army who had come to fight Christianity, was martyred and died at a place called Darté.

In 451, Darté was completely ravaged and destroyed by the Huns, while Bologna, which had already existed for almost a century, was spared. This miracle was attributed to the protection of the young martyr "Bologna". The population decided to settle there, and thought about building a church dedicated to St Bologna. The relics of St Bologna are on display there.

Inside the church is a remarkable wooden cross, carved by a Hungarian refugee named Lazlo to thank the priest who had taken him in.
